Green Still Life

Sarah credits her beginnings as an artist from skills she gained as a house painter; she grew up in rural Illinois where her family owned the Rainbow Motel, and she and her eight brothers and sisters would help paint the rooms. Sarah’s artwork explores the realm of pop stars, movie stars and the natural world. Sarah’s images—a single flower in a jar, a patchwork blue sky, a striped tree—vibrate on the page like a softly lit neon sign. Her preferred medium is colored pencil.
