Andy makes his “Talking Stick” sculptures by wrapping yarn and fabric strips around found objects. He mostly uses sticks, but he has also used household objects such as chairs and bicycles. These bright multicolored objects have a sense of mystery and ritual. Due to increasing limitations to his sight and manual dexterity, Andy cannot work for contented hours as he once did, patiently building up layer after layer of colorful wrapping.
